What Is a Gas Safety Check?
A gas safety check is a detailed inspection of the gas appliances, pipework, ventilation and safety systems within your commercial kitchen. It ensures everything is operating safely, efficiently and in line with current Gas Safe regulations. For most catering businesses, this check is carried out annually to stay compliant with insurance requirements and commercial safety standards.
During your inspection, a certified GMSE engineer assesses the condition and performance of each appliance, tests the interlock system and checks for any potential leaks or ventilation issues. If your kitchen uses gas appliances, a CP42 commercial gas certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
