1. How the Henkelman Range Is Organised

Henkelman's commercial vacuum packer range is built around two fundamental distinctions: table-top versus floor-standing, and single-chamber versus double-chamber.

Table-top machines sit on a bench or counter and are suited to lower-to-mid-volume applications, daily prep in a butchery, restaurant or deli, for example. Floor-standing machines are larger, more powerful and designed for higher-throughput environments where the vacuum packer is in sustained daily use throughout a production shift.

Within each category, Henkelman uses distinct model names to indicate the series: Jumbo, Boxer, Aero and Aura for table-top machines; Marlin, Falcon and Polar for floor-standing. Understanding what those names signify makes choosing significantly more straightforward.

2. Table-Top Vacuum Packers - Entry Level

The Mini Jumbo and Jumbo 42 are Henkelman's entry-level table-top machines and the natural starting point for businesses new to vacuum packing or with modest daily throughput.

The Mini Jumbo is the most compact chamber machine in GMSE's range. Its smaller footprint and lower price make it appropriate for kitchens and delis where vacuum packing is a useful tool but not a high-frequency core process.

The Jumbo 42 is the step up, with a slightly larger chamber, the same straightforward operation, and a machine that has become a standard in independent butcheries and farm shops across the UK. If you are vacuum packing daily as part of your normal prep and storage routine, the Jumbo 42 is typically the minimum specification worth considering. For a detailed look at how the Jumbo 42 works in practice, read our dedicated Jumbo 42 buyer guide.

Who these suit: Small operations, occasional-to-daily vacuum packing, limited bench space, tighter budgets.

3. Table-Top Vacuum Packers - Mid-Range

The mid-range of Henkelman's table-top series covers the Boxer 42, Aero 42 and Boxer 52 families - machines with larger chambers, more powerful pumps and additional functionality compared to the entry-level models.

The Boxer 42 offers a larger chamber than the Jumbo 42 - useful for sealing larger or irregular cuts of meat - with the same straightforward operation and compact footprint. The Boxer 52 extends the seal bar length and chamber further, increasing the range of products that can be sealed without repositioning.

The Aero 42 and Aero 42 XL introduce more advanced cycle programming alongside a chamber size comparable to the Boxer 42. The Aero 42 H2O adds a water cooling system, relevant for operations that need the machine to cycle quickly and continuously without heat build-up affecting seal quality.

Who these suit: Busier butcheries and delis, kitchens vacuum packing multiple times per day, operations that need a larger chamber or more programming flexibility than the entry-level machines provide.

4. Table-Top Vacuum Packers - Premium

At the premium end of the table-top range, the Boxer 42 XL and Aura 42 series represent the largest and most capable bench-top machines GMSE stocks.

The Boxer 42 XL provides one of the largest chambers available in a table-top format, suited to operations sealing whole joints, large packs or bulk portions where a standard-sized chamber is a limiting factor.

The Aura 42 and Aura 42 XL are Henkelman's premium table-top machines, featuring I-Vac intelligent vacuum packing with pre-set programmes for optimal packing across different product types, and a full-colour touchscreen panel. For operations where consistency, repeatability and programme control matter - production kitchens, catering operations, food processors - the Aura series offers a level of precision that the Boxer and Aero machines do not.

Who these suit: Food processors, production kitchens, caterers and operations that need maximum table-top chamber capacity or advanced programme control without moving to a floor-standing machine.

5. Floor-Standing Vacuum Packers - Marlin Series

The Marlin series is Henkelman's entry point into floor-standing vacuum packers, and the bridge between heavy-duty table-top use and full production environments.

The Marlin 50, Marlin 52 and Marlin 90 cover a range of chamber sizes and seal bar lengths - the Marlin 90 being particularly suited to operations sealing larger or longer products such as whole fish, large joints or extended-length portions.

Marlin machines are floor-standing with integrated stands, freeing up bench space and providing a dedicated station for vacuum packing within a production environment. Available in single-phase, they are generally suited to operations running one to two shifts of continuous packing rather than three-shift production environments.

Who these suit: Larger butcheries and delis, small food manufacturers, caterers preparing food in high volume, and any operation that has outgrown a table-top machine but does not yet need the throughput of the Falcon or Polar series.

6. Floor-Standing Vacuum Packers - Falcon and Polar Series

The Falcon and Polar series represent Henkelman's heavy-duty floor-standing range - machines designed for sustained, high-throughput production environments where the vacuum packer is running for extended periods throughout the working day.

The Falcon 52 and Falcon 80 are mid-to-high-throughput single-chamber floor-standing machines, with the Falcon 80 offering a significantly larger chamber and more powerful pump suited to high-volume continuous packing.

The Polar 52 and Polar 80 are comparable in chamber size to their Falcon counterparts but with additional features and specifications that suit more demanding production environments. The Polar series in particular is well established in meat processing facilities across the UK.

Who these suit: Food processors, meat processors, production facilities and any commercial operation where the vacuum packer is central to the production process and in continuous use for extended periods.

7. Double-Chamber Machines

For the highest-throughput environments, Henkelman's double-chamber machines allow one chamber to be loaded while the other is cycling - effectively doubling packing output without doubling the number of machines on the production floor.

GMSE stocks three double-chamber models: the Falcon 2-60, the Polar 2-50 and the Falcon 2-70. Each offers a different combination of chamber size and throughput capacity to suit different production volumes and product types.

Who these suit: Large-scale food processors, meat processors and production operations with the highest throughput requirements, where a single-chamber machine would create a bottleneck in the production workflow.

8. Refurbished Henkelman - When It Makes Sense

GMSE regularly stocks refurbished Henkelman vacuum packers across a range of models: from multiple Jumbo 42 units through to Aero 42, H200XL, Boxer, Falcon and Polar machines. Every refurbished machine has been assessed, overhauled and tested by GMSE's engineers before sale, and is backed by the same 12-month parts and labour warranty as new equipment.

A refurbished Henkelman is worth considering when budget is a primary constraint, when the specific model you need is available refurbished at a significantly lower price, or when a machine with proven field performance is preferable to a new unit. Henkelman machines are built to last - with proper maintenance, they have productive service lives measured in decades - which makes a well-refurbished Henkelman a sound investment.

Refurbished stock changes regularly. Contact GMSE's team if you are looking for a specific model that is not currently listed.

9. How to Choose

If you are unsure which Henkelman model is right for your operation, the following questions will help narrow it down.

How frequently will you use it? Occasional use (a few times per week) points toward the entry-level table-top range. Daily use as part of a normal prep routine points toward the mid-range table-top models. Continuous use throughout a production shift points toward floor-standing.

What are you sealing? Small portions, standard cuts and everyday prep products suit the entry and mid-range models. Large joints, long products and bulk packs benefit from an extended seal bar — the Marlin 90, Boxer 52 or Boxer 42 XL. Liquids, marinades and soft products are best sealed in chamber machines, which all Henkelman models are.

What is your available space? Table-top machines require bench or counter space. Floor-standing machines require a dedicated floor position. Double-chamber machines are the largest footprint in the range.

New or refurbished? If specific models are available refurbished at a meaningful price reduction, and the refurbishment has been carried out by a qualified engineering business with a proper warranty, refurbished is a rational choice for most operations. Finance is available across both new and refurbished ranges through GMSE.

If you are still unsure, contact GMSE's team. Our engineers work with Henkelman machines every day and can advise on the right specification for your operation before you commit.
